Mobile Byte Sensei

An engineering company, operating since 2019.

Mobile Byte Sensei delivers software across mobile, games, web, desktop and applied AI, and builds any application or product a client’s requirement calls for. Dedicated teams cover engineering, design, QA and operations; the company also engineers and operates a line of its own products.

Operating principles.

Stated concretely enough that a client can hold us to them in writing.

  • Estimates follow scoping.

An estimate issued before the questions are asked is a guess presented as a commitment. We would rather decline the work than misprice it.

  • A working build every two weeks.

Progress is demonstrated with software that can be installed and used, not with a status deck or a percentage complete.

  • Performance is budgeted against modest hardware.

Budgets are set against a five-year-old mid-range Android phone on a poor connection, not against the workstation the code was written on.

  • The client owns the work.

Source, infrastructure, accounts and signing keys sit with the client from the first commit. There is no proprietary runtime and no expiring licence.

  • A named team, not a pool.

The same engineers remain for the length of the engagement. Rotating staff to balance utilisation is how context is lost.

  • Accountability continues after release.

Every build engagement includes a handover, and the option to retain us for operation and improvement.

Our own products.

Engineered and operated by us, and published under our own name. Client engagements ship under our clients' names and are not listed.
