Grid Duel terms of use.
The agreement between you and us for using Grid Duel: the licence to play, stars and items, the Remove ads purchase, ads, and the limits of our responsibility.
Effective and last updated
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Mobilebytesensei Private Limited ("Mobile Byte Sensei", "MBS Studio", "we", "us") for the Grid Duel game for Android. By installing or playing Grid Duel you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the game.
Google Play's own terms also apply to downloading the game and to the Remove ads purchase. These terms are between you and us only; Google is not a party to them and has no obligation to provide support for the game.
How the game handles personal data is explained in the Privacy policy, and refunds in the Refunds policy. Both form part of these terms.
Who may play
Grid Duel is intended for people aged thirteen and older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you and approves any purchase.
Your licence to play
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install Grid Duel on Android devices you own or control, and to play it for your own non-commercial entertainment, in line with Google Play's terms. You may not:
- Copy, sell, rent, distribute or publish the game, or any part of it, except as these terms or the law allow
- Modify, decompile or reverse engineer the game, except to the extent the law permits despite this restriction
- Use cheats, modified builds or edited save files to obtain stars, items or results
- Click, view or interact with ads by automated means, or in any way intended to inflate ad activity
- Use the game, its characters or its artwork for any commercial purpose without our written permission
Stars, items and progress
Stars, XP, levels, medals and the marks, boards, effects and themes in the Collection are features of the game. They are earned only by playing, cannot be bought, and have no monetary value. They cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for money or anything else.
We may adjust how stars are earned, what items cost in stars and the rewards on offer, to keep the game balanced. We will not take away an item you have already unlocked, except to correct an error or a breach of these terms.
Your progress is stored only on your device. There is no account and no cloud save, so progress is lost if you uninstall the game, clear its data, lose the device or use Start fresh, and we cannot restore it. Your Remove ads purchase is the exception: Google Play keeps it.
The Remove ads purchase
Remove ads is the only thing for sale in Grid Duel. It is a one-time purchase, sold by Google Play at the price Google Play shows you in your currency before you pay.
| What it does | Removes the banner ads on menu screens and the full-screen ads between matches, for good. Hints offered in exchange for watching an ad remain available and stay optional. |
|---|---|
| What it does not do | It does not unlock items, stars or rivals, and gives no advantage in play. |
| Your devices | It belongs to the Google account that bought it. Use Restore purchases in Settings on any Android device signed in to that account. |
| Pending payments | Where Google Play is still processing a payment, ads are removed once Google Play confirms it. |
| Refunds | Handled by Google Play, as set out in the Refunds policy. If a purchase is refunded or revoked, ads return from the next start of the game. Your progress, stars and items are not affected. |
Advertising
Grid Duel is free and is supported by ads served by Google. Ads are never shown during a round or over the board. You can switch ads or personalised ads off at any time in Settings > Privacy settings.
Ads are content of third parties. We do not endorse the products advertised, and any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser.
Updates and availability
We may update Grid Duel to fix faults, improve it, or comply with the law or Google Play's rules, and some updates may be needed for the game to keep working. Features may change, but we will not remove the effect of a Remove ads purchase while the game is offered.
If we stop offering Grid Duel, we will say so on the Grid Duel product page at least ninety days beforehand. The game's offline play does not depend on our servers.
Intellectual property
Grid Duel, including its name, characters (among them Pip, Rook and Sage), artwork, text, sounds and code, belongs to us or to those who license it to us. These terms give you no rights in it beyond the licence above.
The game includes open-source software, which is licensed under its own terms, listed in Settings > Licences. Nothing in these terms restricts any right you have under those licences.
Disclaimer
To the extent the law permits, Grid Duel is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will work on every device, but we will correct faults as described on the Support page.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from the use of or inability to use Grid Duel.
Our total liability to you in connection with Grid Duel is limited to the amount you paid for the Remove ads purchase in the twelve months before the claim arose, or nil if you made no purchase.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, or liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending these terms
You may stop using Grid Duel at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, your licence ends and you must stop using the game. Clauses that by their nature should continue, including those on intellectual property, liability and governing law, survive the end of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the game or the law. We publish the new version on this page with a new date before it takes effect. If you keep playing after that date, the new terms apply; if you do not accept them, uninstall the game.
Contact and complaints
For help with the game, write to support@mobilebytesensei.com. Complaints about these terms may be sent to legal@mobilebytesensei.com; we acknowledge a complaint within forty-eight hours and aim to resolve it within thirty days. Grievances about personal data are handled as set out in the Privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi, India. This does not limit any non-waivable right you have as a consumer to bring a claim where you live, under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 or the mandatory law of your country of residence.
General
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we may still enforce it later
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation that takes over Grid Duel, without reducing your rights
- These terms, the Privacy policy and the Refunds policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Grid Duel
